Tonight, series 23 of Never mind the Buzzcocks started with an erm bore.

Simon Amstell resigned at the host after the last series, and long serving team captain Bill Bailey also resigned 2 series a go now.

But a permanent replacement for Bailey was foind in Noel Feilding who has been a team captain 3 times before while covering for Bailey.

This series will return to the format of guest hosts which Simon Amstell was once a part of and then went onto present the show for 4 series. But the season looks hardly promising in onearthing another presenter like him.

It started with James Cordon, of Gavin & Stacey fame, also had the Horne & Cordon show which was laughable for all the wrong reasons in comedy. I have to say, I'm really starting to get bored of Cordon, surely it can't be just me. Especially after the show, his jokes were scripted and he lacked the witty comments that we associate with Never mind the Buzzcocks. Mark lamarr or Simon Amstell he is not.

So after a generally dull show by it's former standards, who would I like to see as the new host?

Well no guest presenters from this seasons line-up for starters, I'd like to see Matt Edmondson have a go at it, he is very Amstell-esque and would suit the shows format!

MOBO Awards.. "F the MOBOs"

Just a short summary, watched the entire MOBO ceremony and well it bored me. Only performance I liked was Chipmunk, all the other performances I could of done without!

Lets get the one person who will be happy about the awards out the way..

Kanye West!

Beyonce won the best video category, and with 'the best video of all time' she should really, specially with no Taylor Swift to compete against.

Now someone who has led the charts this year, shifting over a million singles off the shelf didn't pick up an award. Tinchy Stryder, understandably after all his hard work and success, to miss out on a MOBO he must of been pretty pissed.. well read his tweet!

Poor guy, probably the most deserving out of all categories.

Scott's Game of The Week: Left4Dead

My game of the week would of been Far Cry 2, if it was any good. Which it was not, I didn't find it interesting and it didn't make me want to play more than two hours of it, so I promptly exchanged that for Left4Dead.

Left4Dead is a zombie survival game where 4 characters battle to stay alive through 4 campaigns against the zombie horde, and the special infected, with each campaign climaxing with a big stand off while waiting for rescue.

Now I have been meaning to get this game since it's release, and came close to purchasing it but DLC was announced so I waited, then forgot about it. Until now! Okay so Left4Dead 2 has been announced and coming out later this year but you won't regret getting Left4Dead.

The thing that makes this game so good is simply it's online play, with up to 8 players online, the game is hugely replayable through each campaign. It has scary scream moments at times, to the funny moments which is a huge attraction. Offline it is still replayable, with now 4 campaigns to play and 4 difficulties this game offline will keep you entertained for a while.

The games AI is fairly intelligent,but there were a few moments where the AI wouldn't help me up, or advance with me against the zombie horde. But the AI can sometimes seem genius to what I have encountered online, one time I was constrained by a Smoker after just beginning the level and all 3 players ran off and left me to die, making it harder for them, and irritating for me.

Overall Left4Dead is a great game, with great online gameplay, and just enough content to keep you entertained for quite a while.

Preview: SAW the Video Game

Okay so I have just learnt about the SAW video game, which is due for release in October, for Halloween along with the latest installment of the film series. And I honestly don't know what to think, the footage so far has shown a single player game, puzzle based in an asylum.

Being a fan of the films, even with the recent bad ones, I do hope the game is good and challenging but I can't see no replay value in the game. As if completed you have pretty much got what the game has to offer, and I also worry that the puzzles may become repetitive and tedious. I also for some reason have a feeling this game could be rather short, I dunno why, I just have a feeling!

Online multiplayer has been announced, but only hints towards a co-op campaign and again I can't see much longevity in this either, and I can't see much else for multiplayer to provide much else as a Versus. mode wouldn't really work. One way online could make this game better, and provide much more replay value is if the player could make their own maps/traps and post them online.

Overall I will probably rent this game, based on reviews and future announcements. It will be available for Xbox360, PS3, and PC.

Scott's Song of The Week: Ratatat - Falcon Jab

I've only really been just introduced to Ratatat after seeing them at Wireless festival, after I decided they were good enough to check out over N-Dubz. I had little previous knowledge of them, just two men from New York who made music.

I'd only heard two of their tracks before checking them out, them being Loud Pipes, and Seventeen Years. After seeing them live, which was a good show, an obvious display of good musicians and pure talent, I had to find this track as it stood out.

The track is called Falcon Jab, and after my first hearing I thought in some parts it sounded similar to Pendulum's Propane nightmares. It sounded better live, but it is a great track and worth a good listen, you may notice the lack of vocals as Ratatat don't sing but you have to admire the music and mood that they create with their tracks.

While searching the Youtube world many moons ago, I stumbled upon Ted Crusty and his poor companion Joe. Joe is like any other man dummy, in that he has no head which could possibly be the reason why he always gets into ~~life or~~ death situations. Take a quick look at a video now!

This is humour of a particular taste, and due to the somewhat misleading nature

of the videos, have a low rating, but don't be fooled by it. Ted's highest viewed

video is over 5 million and with a rising fanbase nearing 15,000 he is not short of honours.

I'm sure you may be catching on to a catchphrase, "nooo.." which makes an

appearance in every Ted Crusty video after the 'death' of Joe. But with 15 videos

uploaded in the last week and each clocking views in the thousands, maybe the rise

of Ted Crusty has just begun, and maybe one day.. Americans will finally understand

Artist Spotlight: Clement Marfo & The Frontline

Clement Marfo and The Frontline are a 7 piece band from London, consisting of the man himself, Clement Marfo, 2 guitars, 1 bass, 1 drummer, 1 keyboard and a second vocalist in the form of Kojo!

These people all come together to produce a vibrant hip-hop/rock sound and are quickly rising through the London scene in their 9months together, playing small venues such as Bar Rumba and the Camden Barfly to having rocked the stage in the indigo2 a few times.

The above performance came last Monday at Bar Rumba, but last night they topped that performance in supporting Lloyd Banks at the indigo2 with a seriously good performance. Many people commented that they were the best support act, and even a few liked them more than Banks! Clement's energy on stage is almost certain to win people over, and if that doesn't then the music will.

Watch out for them in 2010, they are making big movements in such little time!

Okay once again I disappeared into the real world, but I had a purpose.. Lloyd Banks in concert!

I helped promote the event hard in the final week, and helped run it on the day for Static Productions, met plenty of people such as Bashy, Wretch32, Dj swerve and Mr Banks himself!

Ah this is just a happy post in my blog now, can't believe it actually happened and is over, I literally have nothing to do now so therefore I shall once again be blogging a huge amount of crap and whatever I find humourous at the time!

Oh something which is cool, is the amount of power a guestlist gives you, and just the ability to play with them.. such as finding there name on the list, but then keep searching just to make them worry! Yes I am pure evil when I have a tiny amount of power, get used to it.. Ich Bin Bruno!

Okay so I promised this to be here like 3 weeks ago, tough. I will do my best to recall the night, and if you find it unsatisfactory please contact my mother who will the proceed to tell you she doesn't care, and beat you down.

Okay so short and sweet, the first band on stage I didn't catch there name, they looked like a poor attempt at a clockwork orange outfit, and they had one decent song that you could almost sing-a-long to. Oh and the lead was drunk.

Act 2, Ghost of a Thousand, playing tracks from their new album, and tracks from their old one. They got the place moving, although dancey man was moving all night. A good performance from a good band.

Act 3, Every time i Die, I knew little about this band, and I still don't. They are American, I know that. The crowd seemed to know more about them and were hugely responsive to their set, making me feel a little misplaced in the crowd, but they had some good songs, and some songs not to my liking. I'm sure if you know the band you have your own opinion, and will be frowning at my poor attempt to review them.

Final Act, Gallows, playing tracks from Orchestra of Wolves, and their new album, Grey Britain. If you have seen them live, I really have no need to tell you how good they are live. If you haven't, then they are really good live. Good songs, Good band, Good performance, Black Flag cover, Moshpits, Stagedives, Sweaty bald men. I don't really have much else to say, apart from the refer to London as their hometown, which makes them liars, which makes them going to hell... which they won't mind. They also said you could download their music on the internet, because they are so punk the don't care, so steal it to make Frank Carter happy.

Big Brother.

Oh Lordy, it's that time of year that we get introduced to the lovely contestants on Big Brother. And I could not give a flying intercourse about any of them. I claim not to watch it, but the next 3 months or whatever, will be story after story about how big boobs once got topless at a nightclub, and how innocent guy, lied and is actually a rapist. Who cares?

So if you have not gathered, I dislike Big Brother, as for one it is an old show that has got boring, and secondly the media dribble it brings along with it. I also hate how Big Brother asks for trouble, they actually want controversy because it boosts ratings and profits. How do they do this, well I guess...

Stereotypes and big personalities will lead to arguments, which will inevitably in time lead to controversy, which will then lead to publicity which will then lead to a once passive audience and non existing audience, to become active and voting for the person(s) in question to get evicted. resulting in profit.

Genius? Thanks you are too kind, and no I don't work for channel 4.

In seriousness, Exams have dawned on me therefore the Internet is an evil distraction to my inevitable failure. I have taken a Film exam so far, which was nice and enjoyable, I predict I got a C.

Then there was Sociology, the subject that taught me that education and society is against me, and exams are a way of repressing the working classes, and denying social mobility, and the education system favours the middle classes, and that by being in A levels I have exceeded all expectations of myself and I should give up before I humiliate myself in a public examination. So naturally there are 3 exams at the end of the year. Which so far, after taking 2, I'll be happy with an overall E.

I have 3 exams left, 2 Media, and one more Sociology. Media I should pass C/D standard, and sociology can go suck a phallic symbol.

Then I turn, 18! Suck on that society.

The Apprentice

Now, I am sure you are aware of this wonderful television programme, and Sir Alan Sugar. A wealthy old man who hires people through an elaborate TV show. With every old man, there are two old friends, Nick Pepper and Margaret salted-slug. Nick is the better of the two, as he has a range of facial expressions for two emotions, disgusted and slightly confused by what you just did.

Anyway onto the programme, this year, the 5th series, meaning this will be the 5th person to go through this interview process for a job, whereas the thousands of people who have been hired for SAS in those 5years went to a normal interview.

There are contestants/jobseekers who you either like or hate. For example I like... erm...

okay i hate all of them in one way or another, mainly because they are well educated and have the opportunity. Now I hate Ben, the latest person to be 'fired'. Although technically he was never working for SAS, therefore he didn't really fire him, he merely says that to create power for his short little self. Now back to Ben, who i have kindly pictured. He was cocky to say the least, and seemed to think he deserved to be in the final because he once got a scholarship to sandhurst, ever since that he has walked like he has the upper body of an action man figure, and worn braces like they increase his status.

Who do I want to win, I hear you ask in my own little world. Well i shall answer that and say, James, purely because he is an underdog.

Do I think he will win? No, quite simply.

I think Yasmina will win, as so far she has been clever, not too quiet but avoided the boardroom enough not to draw attention to herself, but continuously performed well therefore not just being a background person.

Today I was rudely awoken by a phonecall from my friend in the earlier mentioned Static productions. He invited me to the O2 for a 'random' trip. That was a lie, he actually had a BBC interview, which airs on Sunday during the Politics Show, which he will be talking about the 696 checks. We were greeted by someone who reminded me of a cockney rat, who hopefully doesn't read blogs. I had to stand behind the camera as I am little importance to them but it was interesting to see how quickly the interview was done and over with... 15minutes to be precise, and that was the end of it, an hour journey for 15minutes which covered the same that most of the newspapers articles have covered the only thing separating the two, is the BBC are about 1-2weeks behind. But publicity is publicity at the end of the day.

Then it was lunch, I love lunch so I had a pizza, and that concludes lunch. Now afterwards my friend unveiled other plans to find a venue for a private event, which I shall not name! After the main target failed, and then the second venue seemed to think we were small time people and pretty much talked down to us like we had just stumbled in blindly to this big world, so we left there. The third was nice, we got shown round by a small Thai lady who seemed a bit confused by the whole thing, but overall nice. Now the final venue was amazing, posh, plush, expensive. Hosted parties for Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight and some other indie band I can't recall, but they had a good portfolio. Certainly top choice.

But then my London time was over, and I was back in my home town, receiving shoulder bumps from people who then stare you down like it's your fault. The venues a bit confused by the whole event hosting thing, and the streets smelling like fish for some strange reason.

Oh but I did get to speak to Wretch32 on the phone, albeit to tell him his desired contact was busy, but I spoke to him, that's what matters... so a good interesting day so far I guess.

Rant time: Swine flu

Okay so this is the first of my many rants to come, and it comes in the form of swine flu. Not Swine flu itself, but the media, lets get one thing clear now, I hate the media.

I hate the fact that a good looking young woman can get on TV and talk about her nails while average looking smart people are sidelined for this utter brainless dribble. This is a complete stereotype but it shows my point. I'd rather listen to the ugliest person in the world talk about climate change, politics, or economics than watch Paris Hilton's show.

Now back on topic of my rant, Swine flu born in Mexico in April and has infected 10,000 people worldwide since, killing roughly 100. Now I'm no mathematician but that is 1 in a 100 dead, and 74 of those were in Mexico. Now maybe i am stereotyping but the US and the Uk ahve better medical facilities, and were actually warned about this outbreak, and have done a good job containing it.

Now the media side of Swine flu, which has been plagued (get it?) with words like pandemic, epidemic, and DEATH! I thought it had died down, now someone in America has died becoming the 7th person to die in the US. Now I'm sure Flu kills people, swine, avian or fish flu, it will claim some lives. Sadly the young and elderly are at risk, but people seem to forget we are Humans, we have seen it all before, and to be blunt about it, we are over populated and destroying the planet... did we think we could just dance through life while doing so?

I say let swine flu pass over, it claims who it claims, and then we can worry about a new strain of it, or maybe Avian flu will come back, which by the way is much more of a threat than swine flu, but you wouldn't have thought it. To wrap up, this blown out of proportion flu is will not be the only one in my lifetime, and if anyone has got some sort of illness it's the media....

Lets just hope Man Flu doesn't spread!

Has a Tory MP saved grime?

This post is about a Guardian article, the same as the title.

Backed by Mp's and Feargal Sharkey, The 696 checks could be a thing of the past. These checks are instrumental in shutting down grime and garage nights and recently Static Productions found that out the hard way.

They were putting on Project Urban, a UK grime event at the o2, 3 weeks before the event, it was cancelled. Due to the event being 'high risk', which later meant they missed a few details such as Date of births on the 696 forms. The invested money was lost, and the early business was in jeopardy due to these strict 696 checks, although Static went through local police who said it could go ahead, and had offered to pay up to £4k more in security.

This example is just one of many that have fallen victim to the 696 checks, so please show support for UK music and sign the petition.

Gig Review: Your Demise, Get Ignorant tour 2009.

Last Friday i went to Luton student union to check out Your Demise, a St. Albans Hardcore band. The supporting bands were, Brutality will prevail, Lower than Atlantis, More than Life, and Deez Nuts all the way from Australia!

Brutality will prevail were up first, performing tracks from their recent release Forgotten Soul and they opened up lively, getting the crowd pumped up from the start. I will admit I have never payed much attention to BWP, but have been told on numerous occasions about them, and they delivered and I am now paying much more attention to them.

Second up were Lower than Atlantis, who were the letdown of the night, the crowd hardly responded to their set, in exception to when they played 'the juggernaut' which got some movement and loyal fans excited. But they did nothing to convert me into a fan that night, including after the show when the lead drunkenly tried to convince me to buy merch.

Third was, More than Life, who were energetic and got the crowd moving once more. They were the band that surprised me, as i wasn't a listener before hand. They played tracks of their 2008 ep, 'Brave enough to Fail', which i have since ordered. The standout track of the night was 'faceless name'.

Fourth were Deez Nuts, all the way from oz, playing tracks from their album 'Stay True'. In my personal opinion they were good enough to headline a tour in the Uk, with big tracks like 'Rep your Hood', 'Tonight were gonna party' and 'sex sells', they have the material. The step up from the previous bands was visible on the floor, as the mosh pit was much more full. A energetic set from a band with the motto 'Drunk til Death'.

After a fitting warm up, Your Demise took the stage. Playing songs from their album Ignorance never dies. With the lead George Noble patrolling the stage shouting the lyrics, and the crowd moshing and stage diving, the class was evident, one of the top UK hardcore bands were now on stage. Tracks such as 'Burnt tongues' and 'black veins' went down well live. After seeing failed stage dives, and mosh related injuries, it was clear I had just witnessed a good band. The set like all that night was flawless, and definitely worth the wait.

Battle of Britain 2009

Today i woke up to the normal knocking on the door from my friendly postman. A routine collection of a parcel and my letters was accompanied with a British National Party leaflet. Now I hardly take note of the BNP, I've read their policies, they make some valid points in some but they make too many wrong ones.

What was different today, was my postman who is a Muslim, handing to me with a kind smile on his face a BNP leaflet with the slogan "British jobs for British workers" on it. I didn't ask questions but I wish I did, because if I was a postman I would of declined to distribute these leaflets, as I do not support the BNP and what they stand for.

Sadly they are growing in numbers due to ignorance mainly, they are getting heavy backing from the working class, of which I am, and have heard many people speak in support of them, but when questioned fail to know who the party leader is and their policies.

Back to the leaflet, I recently learned about it as the pictures they have used are stock photo's of people who are claiming to be BNP members, therefore the leaflet itself is providing false information and misrepresentation of the people. The other thing that bugged me was a picture of a a fighter jet, with the slogan "Battle for Britain 2009", firstly i view it as disrespectful of the Battle of Britain, and the veterans who fought against a mainly Right wing movement, now being used as a tool for one. Also it suggests a violent approach to which I am strongly against.
